This might sound weird but I recently switched to a new toothpaste that had this as an ingredient. I noticed I started feeling very off. I was almost feeling as if I was in a mild state of depression. Then out of nowhere, I was having panic attacks and felt sick to my stomach from any kind of bad thought that crossed my mind. I actually vomitted a few times.

The only connection I could make is Xylitol. I stopped using it and felt better after a few days. I tried it again, and once again I had the same issue. Is it possible this can cause depression and anxiety in certain people?

I have never heard anything about it but that doesn’t mean this can’t be an issue for some people. I think it is worth looking into more since you seem to have issues with the stuff. I know it comes from two forms, one being corn and the other is tree bark. It is considered to be deadly to cats and dogs as well.

Isn’t this sweetener in a lot of healthy foods and gum as well? I somewhat remember reading about it a few years ago, that it helps prevent dental cavities. I don’t believe I have ever had it. I never heard of it being connected to anxiety or depression either.
