    I have tried to give up smoking 3 times in my life and each time, I end up smoking again because my anxiety gets so bad, I start having panic attacks. The last time I tried was last year and I think between the fears of COVID-19 and the widespread panic of everyone around me, it only made things harder. I know I can’t quit, I just fear my anxiety getting worse and staying worse.

    You can do what my husband did and you can transition into vaping. What you do is start with the standard nicotine content you are used to in your cigarettes. You will want to decrease this every month or so until you are down to just 3mg of nicotine. Then you just mix in nicotine-free with 3mg until you are off nicotine entirely.

    What this does is allows your body to ease off of it and it will prevent most if not all withdrawal symptoms.

    Just cut back for starts. The less your body is used to getting on a day-to-day basis, the easier it will be for you to quit. I quit several years ago but because I did it slowly, it never made my anxiety worse. Good luck!
