I thought I would make a thread for this since it was mentioned in another thread. I have used maca for over 5 years now with some fantastic results. It helps with general anxiety, depression (mild), and it will prevent panic attacks. I take it as I need it, not every day. Because a lot of people use this for hormone-related issues, I am wondering if maybe my anxiety and other mental struggles are down to a hormone imbalance. I am going to get my levels checked as soon as I can get in with my doctor.
Has anyone else here tried maca or even heard of it before?
I have heard of people using maca root for gaining weight (muscle or fat) and for combatting fertility issues but I have never heard about it being used for anxiety. This is pretty interesting! I am going to have to research this more.
It could be down to hormones. I think it is worth getting them checked for sure. Post your updates after you get everything tested. I am curious. I have a friend online who says she started using maca root after hearing about it in a YouTube video and it seems to be helping her as well.
